Website redesign for Insurance brand, Virseker
Virseker New Website
A new website for “Virseker”
Virseker is an insurance brand in South Africa with the target market of Afrikaans speaking individuals. In 2023 the Marketing website got a complete overhaul. Since the deployment of the new website Virseker has seen a higher rate of sales of insurance policies than the previous site.
I joined the project team during the UI design phase where my role was to get many of the marketing product pages designed and to oversee the development thereof.

My Role
Intermediate UX/UI Designer
My role on the project was to design product pages quickly, within the projects tight timelines.
As part of the website redesign, we built out a design system to be used on future Virseker designs. I contributed by building responsive components as part of the design system. Maintaining a templatised approach to the designs was paramount in achieving the tight deadline. We built out temlates to be used in maintaining continuity and speed in future designs.
I was responsible for working closely with the developers of the new website and reviewing designs to ensure the final product was as close to the designs as possible.
Brand Identity
Virseker is a brand that one might call “quirky”, It aims to come across as playful yet clear and concise.
The design system enabled us to maintain this energy throughout the designs. I sourced icons that spoke the same clear design language as the graphics used throughout the site. These icons enable users to quickly scan pages and understand the benefits of the policies visually without having to read all the explanatory text.
Mobile first approach
The screens and all components they are comprised of were designed to have a mobile-first approach. Research showed that most of the Virseker users accessed the site via mobile, therefore, this approach was imperative to ensure the success of the new websites conversion rate. This has subsequently been the case.
Web friendly browsing
The Virseker marketing site makes a visual impact with its bright colours, energetic imagery and clear navigation. Users are guided through the site via multiple navigation points. The mega menu is customised to be visually scannable using icons and the in page navigation is easily understandable by the use of context specific graphics and clear copy.
